Part of Ampersand’s Museum Series of Panel’s, Encausticbord is the only ready-to-paint surface made for the unique demands of encaustic painting. A perfect encaustic ground is applied to a sealed hardboard panel to form a highly absorbent, smooth and velvety surface. Not only can it take the heat, but it also provides superior adhesion. Ideal for use not only with encaustic paints, but also a variety of media including oils, image transfers, collage, and more.

Developed in collaboration with R&F Handmade Paints, this truly archival surface is engineered to hold layers of wax and collage without fear of cracking or separation.

Each panel is cradled 1 1/2” deep.
