Introducing the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops Community Gallery

Since 1982, we’ve been host to Hudson River Valley Art Workshops; an in-residence art program bringing teaching artists and student artists from around the world here to Greenville. This past year, we’ve rebuilt our supporting art supply shop and are ready to launch a brand new program to to decorate the walls in this special room. Welcome to the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops Community Gallery!

This gallery will feature a rotating selection of wall-hanging work from past and present students of our workshops and all pieces will be available for sale! We look forward to using this new opportunity as another path towards growing our artistic community here at the Greenville Arms.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply to have their work shown?

Only artists who have previously attended our workshops or are currently enrolled to attend a future workshop are eligible.

What kind of work is eligible?

All media are welcome. All pieces must be framed and/or otherwise ready to hang on a wall. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate freestanding work at this time. All work must be available to sell. We prefer that pieces be delivered and picked up in person. If you must ship your work, you will be responsible for return shipping costs if the piece does not sell.

How many pieces can be submitted by one artist?

Due to limited space, you may submit only up to three artworks.

How long will pieces be shown?

Artists will have a choice between either a three (3) or six (6) month period.

What is required to apply?

You will need to complete the above linked application and submit photos of work you would like considered.

How will the sales be split?

The artist will receive 70% of the sale price and the Greenville Arms will retain 30%.

Will there be a gallery opening or promotion done of the work accepted?

Work will be regularly featured on our social media channels as well as in our newsletter. Due to the fluid nature of the changing pieces in the shop and our workshop schedule, we may or may not have a formal opening.

Will accepted artwork be covered by the Greenville Arms insurance?

Our property insurance should cover accepted artwork in most cases for incidents such as theft or fire. It will not cover wear & tear, repairs, restoration, or retouching. Due to limits in our policy we will not be accepting any exceptionally fragile pieces with glass/porcelain or other breakable elements (aside from the framing glass).
