The Greenville Arms 1889 Inn is a historically registered Inn with 16 rooms located at the foot of the Catskills and an easy drive from Albany. In addition to serving Inn guests the Greenville Arms also houses the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops, where artists from the greater northeast to as far as Australia and Europe take classes from our extensive catalog of instructors. Students and guests are treated to a hot made-to-order breakfast each day and have the opportunity to take advantage of our premium amenities such as an espresso bar serving craft beverages and our house made gourmet chocolate line, Life by Chocolate. Students are also served a three course fixed menu dinner, have the opportunity to order lunches, and are treated to cookies, coffee and tea in the afternoon.

Sous Chef/Prep Chef
We are currently seeking a Sous/Prep Chef for a part time seasonal position for our Hudson River Valley Art Workshops program. Our small kitchen is an active one during workshop season, serving up favorites & specials for breakfast in the morning and a diverse range of creative dishes for the three course fixed menu dinner in the evening for anywhere from 5-25 guests.
Candidates should have a background in culinary arts and will potentially be responsible for post breakfast clean up and dishwashing, dinner prep, dinner, and post-dinner clean up.
A typical week’s schedule would be Sunday afternoon from approximately 3PM-until around 8:30PM for dinner prep, dinner. Breakfasts, Monday-Tues, from 6:30AM-9AM and Friday dinner prep and dinner from 3PM-9PM. Hours may vary depending on the size of group and workshop week schedule. Maybe be requested to fill in during other shifts as needed.
Hourly pay begins at $20 and is dependent on experience.
We encourage recent graduates of culinary programs to apply as there is much room for learning within this position to learn all the ins and outs of innkeeping and hospitality. Experience in hospitality is highly desirable.
Groundskeeper/Gardener/Maintenance (Temporary)
The grounds cover 6 acres of lawns, forest, and gardens which over the years have been designed to include a variety of specialized spaces. Both the buildings and grounds require constant care and maintenance. Knowledge of organic gardening practices is desirable and a sincere interest in gardening.
Maintenance tasks could include, but not limited to:
simple plumbing and building repairs
handling recycling and trash bin filling for weekly pick up
setting up summer furniture and keeping them clean
opening up bathrooms after winter shutdown
Garden tasks include, but limited to:
Trimming
Weeding
Planting new plants
Watering
Spreading compost/mulch
Hourly wage starts at $18 depending on experience. Hours are flexible. Current position is temporary, but has potential to continue.
Housekeeper
Housekeeping staff duties include cleaning of guest rooms both during and after stays, preparing rooms for incoming guests, laundry, cleaning and maintenance of public areas, and cleaning of exterior spaces and building exteriors.
Significant attention to detail is required and sanitization of public spaces will be an ongoing daily task.
This part-time position must be available to work weekends and shifts will vary depending upon workshop dates and size.
Experience in housekeeping and property maintenance is highly desirable.
Hourly pay begins at $15 and is dependent on experience.
