Indigo Dyeing Basics with Adina Marguerite

  • Greenville Arms 1889 Inn 11135 State Route 32 Greenville, NY 12083 (map)
September 12th : Indigo Dyeing Basics with Adina Marguerite
$65.00

Get your hands in some indigo dye on Saturday, September 12th from 1pm-4pm.

This is designed to be an introductory workshop to share the basics of dyeing with indigo from a ready- made kit. We’ll play with easily available types of resist like rubber bands, clothes pins, and binder clips; and experiment with multiple dips to create deeper tones and ombre effects. A further preparation email will be sent to attendees one week prior to the event.

Participants will each receive a pair cotton bandanas to dye with. You are also encouraged to bring your own pre-washed natural fiber items to dye - think cotton, linen, silk, or wool - with no more than 20% synthetic fibers.

It is recommended that participants bring a pair of fresh elbow length kitchen gloves, an apron, and wear clothing and shoes which can get splattered with indigo dye.

If the weather is favorable, the workshop will take place outside - so please bring sun protection. If it’s raining the workshop will take place in our studio space.
